SEN Behaviour Mentor – Full‑time (Islington)

About the role

We are seeking dedicated SEN Behaviour Mentors to provide one‑to‑one support and targeted interventions for pupils in special educational needs settings across the London Borough of Islington. The role is full‑time and may include short‑term or daily cover assignments, offering flexibility to match your availability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised behaviour support and intervention plans for individual pupils.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate positive handling techniques into daily routines.
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies based on pupil response and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes in line with safeguarding policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of SEN strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a SEN Mentor or Behaviour Mentor working with 1:1 interventions.
• Qualifications in Team Teach or Positive Handling (or equivalent).
• Flexible, committed and caring attitude towards pupils with special needs.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to varying cover requirements.
