SEN Classroom Mentor

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate SEN Classroom Mentor to support students with special educational needs in a vibrant school near Reading. You will work one‑to‑one and in small groups, helping learners aged 3 to 18 achieve their academic, emotional and social goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to students with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, sensory issues, physical disabilities and other needs.
• Assist teachers and the SENCo in delivering tailored learning objectives.
• Manage behaviour, well‑being and emotional regulation situations.
• Facilitate inclusion in art, IT, drama and sports activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Required profile

• Calm, compassionate and able to stay positive under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivation to work with children of diverse abilities.
• Graduate or early‑career professional seeking experience in education, psychology or mental health.
