SEN English Teacher – Enfield (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time position is for a qualified English teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Enfield. You will teach KS3 and KS4 pupils, supporting their language and literature development while addressing a range of additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
• Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
• Differentiate curriculum content to ensure all students can access and progress.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and pastoral teams.
• Contribute to EHCP targets and monitor individual student outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature.
• Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning profiles.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, consistent and nurturing approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
