SEN Functional Skills Tutor (16‑24 year olds)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate SEN Functional Skills Tutor to join our High Wycombe programme. You will work with learners aged 16‑24 who have SEND and EHCPs, helping them achieve functional maths and English qualifications while gaining real‑world workplace experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver short, focused Functional Skills Maths and English sessions (Entry Level to Level 2) in small groups.
• Support learners on local work placements in retail, hospitality and other settings, developing employability skills.
• Facilitate post‑placement reflection sessions to reinforce learning and confidence.
• Conduct initial assessments, create personalised action plans and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• Experience delivering or supporting Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Background working with young people who have SEND or additional learning needs.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
