SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (KS1/KS2)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special educational needs school in Chigwell. You will support KS1 and KS2 pupils, helping them achieve progress within an inclusive, child‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a class for half a day when staffing gaps arise.
• Deliver targeted interventions alongside class teachers.
• Create engaging learning resources to support academic progress.
• Collaborate closely with the SENCo to assist pupils with SEN and EAL needs.
• Set learning targets and provide assessment feedback.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant is desirable.
• Strong initiative and the ability to take on responsibility.
• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning is ideal but not essential.

• Competitive daily rate of £100‑£120.
• Long‑term, full‑time contract (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm).
