SEN Humanities Teacher (Key Stage 3)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Key Stage 3 SEN Humanities Teacher to join our specialist provision in Ealing. You will deliver engaging History, Geography and RE lessons tailored for pupils with SEND, supporting both academic progress and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated KS3 Humanities lessons (History, Geography, RE) for students with SEND.
• Adapt curriculum, resources and teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia and speech & language difficulties.
• Develop and implement individual learning plans aligned with EHCP targets.
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment and use effective behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques.
• Monitor, assess and record student progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents/carers.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Humanities at KS3, preferably in SEN, alternative provision or inclusive settings.
• Strong understanding of SEND and differentiated teaching strategies.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia and speech & language difficulties.
• Ability to create and adapt learning resources for diverse needs.
