SEN Learning Mentor – Support Pupils with Additional Needs

About the role

We’re looking for dedicated SEN Learning Mentors to support pupils with additional needs in specialist and mainstream school settings. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about helping young people succeed while gaining valuable experience for future careers in education, psychology, therapy, or youth support.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to promote learning, engagement and personal development.
• Encourage emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Assist teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils to foster progress and achievement.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable).
• Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, Autism or behavioural needs (advantageous).
• Aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, speech & language therapists, occupational therapists or youth workers.
