About the role
Academics Canterbury is recruiting enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistants to join specialist schools and provisions across Kent. The role starts immediately or in September 2026, offering the chance to make a positive impact on young people with additional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and complex needs.
- Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Encourage engagement, independence and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and senior leadership teams.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic, patient and resilient individuals.
- Previous experience working with children or young people (experience in SEN, education, care or youth work is desirable but not essential).
- Positive, proactive and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
