SEN Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit in the Croydon/Crystal Palace area. This full‑time position starts in September and offers the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. You will work directly with pupils who have special educational and behavioural needs, supporting their learning and development in the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN and behavioural difficulties.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and carers to implement individual education plans.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, adjusting support strategies as needed.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in regular training and professional development sessions.

Required profile

• Experience working with SEN pupils in a school setting.
• Enhanced DBS check (must be on the update service).
• Relevant qualifications at Level 2 or Level 3 (desired but not mandatory).
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
