SEN Learning Support Assistant – Primary, Secondary & Literacy (Sept Start)

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a specialist school near Horsham to recruit Learning Support Assistants and a Literacy Support (HLTA) professional for a September start. The school serves pupils aged 5‑18 with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH/trauma‑related needs, and offers a therapeutic, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted reading and comprehension interventions in the library (Literacy Support role).
• Support pupils in developing spelling, organisation, working memory and emotional literacy.
• Identify additional needs and conduct screening for dyslexia.
• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to primary and secondary students, encouraging engagement and positive behaviour.
• Work within a structured, therapeutic setting to help students build confidence and independence.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Patience, resilience and enthusiasm for a long‑term career in a specialist setting.
• Relevant experience in literacy intervention for the HLTA role.
• Ability to drive to the rural school location.
