SEN Learning Support Assistant – Primary & Secondary Schools

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Bridgwater. You will join a supportive network of educators, helping students with special educational needs thrive in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored one‑to‑one and group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and MLD.
• Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
• Assist with classroom activities, encouraging independence and participation.
• Support pupils in emotional regulation, communication and social interaction.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
