SEN Mentor – Support Young People (Part‑time, Bournemouth)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Mentor to work one‑to‑one with young people across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and surrounding Dorset areas. You will provide consistent, personalised support that focuses on personal development, confidence building and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Build trusting, positive relationships with each young person.
- Support confidence, self‑esteem and resilience through tailored activities.
- Encourage participation in hobbies, interests and local community services.
- Develop communication and social skills, and promote independence and life‑skills.
- Provide emotional support and a listening ear, adapting sessions to individual needs.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 months experience supporting children or young people in a UK educational setting.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Professional references available on request.
