SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant – Piper Hill Specialist School

About the role
This temporary full‑time position supports pupils with complex learning difficulties, autism and SEMH needs at Piper Hill Specialist School. You will work alongside teachers and a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils.
- Assist with learning activities, behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Implement individual education and behaviour support plans.
- Promote positive relationships and engagement in learning.
Required profile
- Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils (school or alternative provision preferred).
- Calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential.
