SEN / SEND Tutor – Flexible Teaching Role in Dorset

About the role

Join Targeted Provision’s impact‑driven community as a SEN/SEND Tutor, delivering flexible, trauma‑informed tuition to young people with special educational needs across Dorset. You will work with schools and local authorities to support learners ranging from KS1 to KS5.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑person, online, or hybrid tutoring in Maths, English or Science for pupils with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
• Plan and deliver personalised, trauma‑informed lessons that meet each learner’s needs.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and create a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with the SEND Support Team and adhere to local authority referrals.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and at least two professional references.
• Right to work in the UK and based within a reasonable travel distance.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
