SEN Teacher – All‑age School (Ages 2‑19)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to join our all‑age school in Sutton. The role starts in September 2026 and involves teaching pupils aged 2‑19 with complex needs in a supportive, small‑group environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver highly personalised teaching for pupils with ASD, SLD and other complex learning needs.
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons focusing on communication and life‑skills.
- Apply specialist approaches such as sensory‑based learning, structured teaching and communication systems (e.g., PECS, Makaton).
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families to provide holistic support.
- Support pupils’ independence, social interaction and emotional regulation.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that prepares pupils for adulthood.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with experience in SEN education.
- Passion for supporting children with ASD, SLD and related communication or sensory needs.
- Willingness to work in small groups with high staff‑to‑pupil ratios.
- Ability to lead classes across primary, secondary or post‑16 phases.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Required skills
- Knowledge of sensory‑based learning techniques.
- Experience with structured teaching methods.
- Familiarity with communication systems such as PECS and Makaton.
