SEN Teacher – Complex Needs & Autism (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to lead a class of eight pupils aged 12‑15 with complex needs, including autism spectrum condition and global developmental delay. The role is based in a specialist school in North West London and starts in September 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a personalised curriculum across core subjects using multi‑sensory and practical approaches.
• Implement structured learning environments with visual timetables, ‘Now & Next’ boards, and sensory stories.
• Support communication development through PECS, AAC devices, body language and visual supports.
• Collaborate with on‑site therapists and a multidisciplinary team to address behavioural challenges and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learner goals.

Required profile

• Qualified SEN teacher (QTS or QTLS) with a strong interest or experience in autism and complex learning needs.
• Proactive, flexible and passionate about inclusive education.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a nurturing and resilient attitude.

Required skills

• Use of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
• Familiarity with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices.
• Design and use of visual timetables and structured classroom supports.
• Implementation of sensory stories and other specialist autism strategies.
