SEN Teacher – KS3/4 Functional Skills (Crawley)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a vibrant school in Crawley. You will work with a small class of 5‑8 KS3/4 pupils who are currently at least two years behind national expectations and are progressing towards Functional Skills Level Awards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored educational activities to a class of up to 8 pupils with special educational needs, focusing on Functional Skills Level Awards.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that accommodate individual learning styles.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching methods and materials as needed.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil development and well‑being.
• Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an SEN Teacher, preferably in KS3/4 settings.
• Strong understanding of challenges faced by students significantly behind national expectations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching.
