SEN Teacher – Primary KS2 Class in Waltham Forest

About the role

We are seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join a thriving primary SEN school in Waltham Forest. You will work with a small KS2 class of seven pupils who have autism spectrum conditions, specific learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning disabilities, helping them develop life‑skills and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil’s complex needs.
• Monitor and track progress through continuous, personalised assessment.
• Apply strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with a supportive, experienced team and contribute to professional development activities.
• Take over the current teacher’s responsibilities following their relocation.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience supporting children with ASC, SLD or PMLD.
• Commitment to fostering independence and life‑skill development.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, specialist class setting.

Required skills

• Strong behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to design and adapt differentiated curriculum.
• Effective monitoring and assessment of individual progress.
