SEN Teacher – Primary Special School (Harrow)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established local authority special primary school in Harrow to hire an experienced SEN Teacher. The school supports pupils aged 4‑11 with complex needs, including autism, severe and profound learning difficulties, and additional sensory, medical, and physical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons aligned with individual EHCP targets.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and a multidisciplinary team of therapists.
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils’ communication, independence, and life‑skills development.
• Utilise specialist approaches such as visual supports, sensory learning strategies, and alternative communication systems.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEN teaching experience.
• Proven experience in a special school or with pupils who have complex needs.
• Patience, creativity, and a child‑centred approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively with therapists and support staff.
• Commitment to inclusive education and making a meaningful impact.
