SEN Teacher – Secondary Nurture Group (Fixed‑Term)

About the role
We are looking for a qualified SEN teacher to join our secondary nurture provision in Lancaster for the Autumn term. This full‑time, fixed‑term position offers the chance to work with a small group of pupils who need additional support to engage with learning and develop confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for a secondary nurture group.
- Adapt teaching to meet a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD and cognitive difficulties.
- Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and use assessment data to inform planning.
- Support the implementation and review of EHCP outcomes and individual support plans.
- Collaborate with the SENDCo, pastoral staff and external agencies.
- Promote positive behaviour using restorative and nurturing approaches.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour and interventions.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in SEND, SEMH or inclusive practice.
- Commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and external partners.
- Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes.
- Experience differentiating curriculum for diverse learners.
- Ability to design and deliver nurturing interventions.
