SEN Teacher – Secondary SEN School, Waltham Forest

About the role

We are looking for a passionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive secondary SEN school in Waltham Forest from September. You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students aged 11‑19 with a range of additional needs, working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with ASD, MLD, SLCN, or SEMH.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants to implement individualized learning strategies.
• Monitor and assess student progress, contributing to IEP development and review.
• Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive behaviour in the classroom.
• Adapt resources and teaching methods to create an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Nurturing approach with strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student achievement.
• Experience supporting learners with ASD, MLD, SLCN, or SEMH.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
