SEN Teacher – Secondary Special School (Full‑Time)

About the role
The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join its secondary special school in Eccles for the full academic year starting September 2026. You will work with pupils who have a range of additional learning needs, including Down syndrome, delivering personalised and engaging lessons.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Teach and support secondary‑aged pupils with special educational needs.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience or genuine passion for working in an SEN setting.
- Understanding of how to adapt teaching for learners with Down syndrome and other needs.
- Patience, resilience and commitment to pupil development.
- Strong communication, organisation and teamwork abilities.
