SEN Teacher – Support Pupils with Special Educational Needs

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist or inclusive school in Leeds. You will work directly with pupils who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential through personalised learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated, personalised lessons that meet individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, SEMH, ADHD, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, and complex behaviours.
• Implement and review EHCP targets, Individual Education Plans, and personalised support strategies.
• Use trauma‑informed and therapeutic approaches to promote emotional regulation and engagement.
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
• Monitor progress, assess learning, and adapt teaching methods as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND, SEMH, or complex learning needs.
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs, and inclusive practice.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
