SEN Teacher – Support SEMH Pupils (Hayes)

About the role
This full‑time SEN teaching position is based in a specialist primary school in Hayes, serving children aged 4‑11 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The role starts in September and offers a supportive, well‑resourced environment where staff collaborate to help every pupil thrive academically and personally.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to reinforce learning.
- Apply positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation.
- Monitor progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans where required.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience with SEND, SEMH or specialist settings – desirable.
- Excellent communication and classroom management abilities.
- Patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
