SEN Teacher – Trauma Informed Pathway (SEMH)

About the role
We are seeking an exceptional, relationship‑centred SEN Teacher to lead a brand‑new Trauma Informed Pathway for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working in a therapeutic setting, you will help a small group of 6‑8 pupils re‑engage with education, strengthen emotional regulation and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the educational provision within the new Trauma Informed Pathway.
- Plan and deliver highly personalised learning programmes for pupils with significant barriers to education.
- Collaborate with therapeutic practitioners to align learning, SEMH development and intervention planning.
- Help shape and develop the provision from the ground up, contributing to a trauma‑informed, relational culture.
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to pupils, fostering safety, understanding and success.
Required profile
- Outstanding classroom practitioner with experience of SEMH needs.
- Qualified Trauma Informed Practitioner, or willing to undertake training on appointment.
- Understanding of trauma‑informed, attachment‑aware, nurture and relational approaches.
- Belief that behaviour is communication, responding with empathy, consistency and professionalism.
- Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and rebuilding trust in learning.
Required skills
- Trauma Informed Practitioner qualification (or willingness to train).
