SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 ADHD Support (Year 4)

About the role

This full‑time, fixed‑term position supports a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and challenging behaviour in a mainstream primary school in East Dulwich. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 assistance throughout the school day.
• Implement behaviour strategies aligned with the school’s approach and the pupil’s individual support plan.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the pupil’s needs.
• Encourage positive social interaction, independence and confidence.
• Monitor progress and celebrate academic and personal achievements.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting children with SEN, ADHD or challenging behaviour.
• Previous experience in a primary‑school setting or comparable child‑focused environment.
• Calm, patient and resilient attitude with strong behaviour‑management skills.
• Genuine passion for helping children overcome learning barriers.

Required skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO.
