SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Autism Support (Reception)

About the role

This full‑time, fixed‑term position supports a Reception pupil with Autism (ASD) in a vibrant mainstream primary school in Kilburn. The role runs from September 2026 to July 2027, offering a rewarding environment for a caring Teaching Assistant.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for the child, fostering confidence and independence.
• Assist with communication, emotional regulation and classroom engagement.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs while promoting inclusion.
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with SEN or complex additional needs.
• Previous experience in a primary school, nursery or similar child‑focused setting.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with Autism.
