SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Year 4

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 4 pupil at The Sylvester Primary School. You will work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons and create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to modify resources and lesson plans.
• Promote the pupil’s social, emotional and academic development.
• Assist with behaviour management when required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or SEN setting.
• Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other learning difficulties.
• Compassionate, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
