SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support in Gillingham

About the role

We are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to children with Special Educational Needs in primary schools across Gillingham. This full‑time, temp‑to‑perm position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEN, covering needs such as SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural challenges.
• Monitor and assess student progress, sharing updates with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies as required.
• Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
• Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and obtain relevant accreditation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
• L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience working with children with SEN in an educational or pastoral setting.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
