SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support in Gravesend

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for children with special educational needs in primary schools across Gravesend. The role starts in September and offers a temp‑to‑permanent pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance and support small groups of pupils with SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress and share updates with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Collaborate with classroom staff to implement individual education plans and adapt activities as required.
• Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) and obtain relevant accreditation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
• L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience working with children with SEN in an educational or pastoral setting.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
