SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Long‑Term, Southeast London)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with moderate special educational needs in schools across Southeast London. This long‑term placement offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s learning journeys within a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance to pupils with moderate SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to implement individual learning plans.
- Promote independence, confidence and positive engagement for each pupil.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help create an inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to school staff.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs.
- Experience delivering 1:1 support is highly desirable.
- Patient, caring and resilient attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
