About the role

Join Academics as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in Ashford, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to make a real difference in children’s lives while working alongside dedicated teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help pupils engage with learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver inclusive and creative learning activities.
• Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs and learning difficulties.
• Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual learning requirements.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and consistency.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Assist with personal care or specialist equipment when required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Caring, patient and resilient attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
