SEN Teaching Assistant – Bury (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role
The school in Bury is a vibrant SEN specialist setting looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join from September 2026. Working full‑time, you will support pupils with complex needs such as autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, and social‑emotional challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance following each pupil’s individual learning plan.
- Use visual supports, structured routines and regulation strategies to aid communication and emotional regulation.
- Support pupils with sensory activities, assist with personal care or mobility where required (training provided).
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver a consistent, nurturing learning environment.
- Promote independence, positive behaviour and engagement in daily routines.
Required profile
- Previous experience in SEND, special schools, residential or children’s care settings.
- Patient, calm and nurturing attitude with resilience to work with complex needs.
- Ability to follow safeguarding procedures and undertake vetting checks.
- Availability Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm.
