SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Full‑time/Part‑time

About the role

We are seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across Gateshead and surrounding boroughs. The role offers flexible full‑time or part‑time arrangements, with start dates available immediately or from September 2026. Daily rates range from £90 to £125.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with special educational needs in class or small‑group settings.
• Assist pupils with tasks outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Provide targeted support for literacy, numeracy and other curriculum areas.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have SEND, particularly ASC, SEMH or complex learning needs (preferred but not essential).
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable attitude.
• Ability to work one‑to‑one or with small groups.
• Previous school experience advantageous; early‑career teachers are welcome.
