About the role
We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to a non-verbal pupil in a welcoming primary school in Preston. The role runs from September for the full academic year, offering stability for both the child and the assistant.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised support to a single pupil throughout the school day (8:45 am – 3:30 pm).
- Assist the pupil with personal care needs as required.
- Facilitate the pupil’s access to learning activities and classroom routines.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and support staff to ensure a consistent, nurturing environment.
- Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s progress and any care provided.
Required profile
- Patient, caring and supportive attitude.
- Confidence working one-to-one with children who have additional needs.
- Willingness to provide personal care.
- Previous experience in SEN settings is preferred but not mandatory.
