SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-time & Part-time (Term Time)

About the role

This position offers the chance to support children with additional needs in a welcoming mainstream primary school. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored 1:1 assistance, helping pupils thrive academically and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual requirements.
• Support emotional regulation and classroom engagement.
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.

Required profile

• Empathetic, patient and resilient.
• Passionate about SEN, inclusion and child development.
• Strong communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly.
• Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable).
• Background in Education, Psychology, Care or similar (beneficial).
