SEN Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time (Term‑Time) – Thornton‑Cleveleys

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position supports a primary academy in Thornton‑Cleveleys. You will work closely with pupils who have mild special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Promote positive behaviour, self‑regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Provide personal care where needed, following training and safeguarding procedures.
• Observe, record and report pupil progress and any emerging concerns.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
• Relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Punctual, reliable and able to commit to a Monday‑Friday schedule.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning; SEND experience is desirable but not essential.
