SEN Teaching Assistant – Harrow (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Harrow. The role starts in September and involves supporting students aged 16‑19 with a range of additional learning needs, helping them achieve academic and social progress.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons for students with autism, moderate learning difficulties and sensory needs.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to develop communication, social and independent living skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and parents to monitor and promote student progress.
• Offer personal care when required and maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
• Interest in Special Educational Needs and a patient, adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
