SEN Teaching Assistant – High Wycombe

About the role

This position supports pupils with special educational needs in mainstream and specialist settings across High Wycombe. You will help children develop confidence, independence and essential life skills while contributing to a calm and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with a range of SEN.
• Encourage independence, communication and positive social interaction.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialist staff to meet individual learning needs.
• Promote a safe, calm and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
• Assist pupils in building confidence, resilience and everyday life skills.
• Adapt support strategies to suit diverse additional needs.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people.
• Patience, empathy and strong communication abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to various SEN requirements.
• Commitment to helping every pupil achieve their potential.
