SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in Farnborough. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to help children access the curriculum, manage behaviour and build confidence. The role involves both one‑to‑one and small‑group support across primary and secondary key stages.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and other additional needs.
• Support pupils during lessons, activities and daily routines to ensure engagement.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Adapt learning tasks and resources to meet individual requirements.
• Maintain a calm, inclusive and structured classroom environment.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Patient, calm and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Reliability and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
