SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our students. In this role you will work closely with the school’s SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
• Help students develop essential life skills, independence, and confidence.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting diverse student needs.
• Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
• Willingness to undergo training and continuous professional development.
