About the role
The school is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a Junior School in Barnet. You will work one‑to‑one and in small groups, helping children access the curriculum, develop confidence and maintain positive behaviour.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist pupils with learning tasks and classroom activities.
- Implement individual support plans.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
- Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence and social development.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable.
- Patient, caring and resilient nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive and proactive attitude.
- Passion for helping children succeed.
