SEN Teaching Assistant – Long‑Term Temporary Role

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join St Gregory’s Primary School in Bolton on a long‑term temporary basis. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them achieve academic, social and emotional milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
• Implement EHCPs and individual learning plans alongside the class teacher.
• Adapt learning materials to suit each pupil’s needs.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with children who have SEN.
• Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.
• Patience, resilience and strong communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEN legislation and EHCP implementation.
• Experience adapting curriculum materials for diverse learners.
