SEN Teaching Assistant – No Experience Needed

About the role

Join a supportive school community as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. No prior experience is required – we welcome enthusiastic individuals ready to help children thrive. The role is full‑time and offers a pathway from temporary to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist SEN pupils with daily classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Help create an inclusive environment that encourages participation and confidence.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and any interventions used.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals as needed.

Required profile

• Willingness to work with children with special educational needs.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference.
• Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
• Two years of references from employment or volunteer work.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; a caring attitude and basic classroom support abilities are essential.
