SEN Teaching Assistant – Outdoor Learning (Bristol)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Bristol, delivering outdoor‑focused, experiential learning for pupils with special educational needs. The role runs during school hours on a term‑time basis and combines classroom support with nature‑based activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN across all ages, focusing on emotional and mental well‑being.
• Deliver outdoor and experiential learning sessions, including nature walks, animal interaction and sustainability projects.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support during school hours.
• Promote a safe, inclusive environment, adhering to safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or adults with special needs.
• Strong enthusiasm for outdoors, nature, animals and sustainability.
• Excellent interpersonal and empathy skills.
• Commitment to supporting the whole‑person development of pupils.

• No specific technical skills required.
