SEN Teaching Assistant – Post‑16 Provision (Lambeth)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support 16‑19‑year‑old learners in a specialist post‑16 provision in Lambeth. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and starts in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with students who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges.
• Provide structure, confidence and guidance through functional skills, vocational activities and life‑skills learning.
• Build consistent, supportive relationships to encourage engagement and independence.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to implement positive behaviour support strategies.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm and steady demeanor in difficult situations.
• Clear, confident communication skills.
• Commitment to celebrating individual progress and openness to further training.
