SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) – Salford

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Salford. The role starts in September and offers a long‑term, full‑time position supporting pupils with additional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEN/SEND.
- Assist children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
- Support emotional regulation, routines and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
- Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in lessons.
- Promote pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEND.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Confidence managing pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Genuine interest in education and supporting vulnerable learners.
