About the role
A primary school in Eccles, Salford is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team from September for the full academic year. The role is full‑time and supports pupils with additional needs both one‑to‑one and within a dedicated SEN unit.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence.
- Work closely with classroom teachers and the SENCO to adapt teaching approaches and resources.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing among pupils.
- Assist in the delivery of the SEN unit’s daily activities and maintain accurate records of support provided.
Required profile
- Patient, reliable and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with staff and adapt to individual pupil needs.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
- Must hold the appropriate qualifications and training for the position and have a valid enhanced DBS check.
Required skills
- Ability to implement individualized support plans.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with pupils, staff and parents.
- Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
