SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position supports a multicultural primary school in Slough. You will work within the school’s Inclusion Team to help pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist children with Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
• Promote pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support plans.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and achievements.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school or similar setting.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.
• Proactive, flexible and able to use initiative.
• Effective team player.
• Commitment to supporting educational, emotional and social development of children.
• Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
