SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Beckton, East London. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils with Special Educational Needs, delivering one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language, and social‑emotional needs.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom activities and behaviour management.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group learning sessions, adapting resources to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to individual education plans.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
• Experience working with children who have autism, ADHD, speech, language or SEL needs (desirable).
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Basic IT literacy for record‑keeping and communication.
